My name is Zhanna Shypulia. I’m a dedicated and passionate Russian language teacher with a clear mission: to help my students achieve real, confident communication in Russian, without wasting years.
I’m a native Russian speaker, born in the southern region of Ukraine. My mother is Russian, and my father is Ukrainian.
I started teaching Russian in 2015, and since then, I’ve helped thousands of students begin speaking with confidence. I’ve delivered countless one-on-one lessons, and over 1,000 students have completed my online courses.
My teaching style is a blend of structure and motivation. I don’t believe in a purely grammar-focused approach. Instead, I focus on all key aspects of language learning, practical skills, mindset, and consistent progress, the kind that leads to real conversations, not just textbook answers.
Despite the myth that Russian is difficult to learn, I firmly believe that anyone can master it. My friends describe me as hardworking and goal-oriented, while my students appreciate my strict yet supportive approach. At heart, I’m kind, dreamy, and optimistic, and I’m passionate about helping you achieve fluency in Russian!

The course is designed for English speakers.
I explain grammar in English for most of the course so that you can understand the main concepts more easily. Based on my 10 years experience of teaching Russian, it is much easier, less stressful, and more enjoyable for adults to make a transition to Russian when they have an intermediary language.
No previous knowledge of the language is required.
 The course is divided into several sections, containing the more than 240 video of lessons, 330+ exercises and quizzes after each lesson. I recommend watching the sessions in order, as the course offer a sequential and logical learning path.
Remember that you can always go back and watch the lessons as often as needed.
All videos are in FULL HD and you can adjust the speed, audio and quality.
During the course, you will also find 330+ exercises and more than 60 PDFs, which will allow you to practice at the end of each lesson!
